Alice was the Puzzle’s first major production. It was staged at the hallowed Figtree Theatre, UNSW, and written and directed by The Puzzle’s founder, John Galea, based on the classic stories Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There by Lewis Carroll. The production was unique in featuring contemporary songs like the Avalanches ‘Frontier Psychiatrist ‘  and in incorporating Lewis Carroll/Charles Dodgson himself as a character in the narrative, as he came to terms with the bizarre creatures of his imagination.
